i was quite stunned by seeing someone in a bhuljonmo \'obostha\' getting the 4~5 green boxes..
if a mod or super mod gives him one rep point it will be counted 10 times. so............

I think.... Reputation Power system thaka uchit.. Lik almost as Aneek proposed.. The power should b increased according to the rate and the amount of posts...
And.... obviously the user shud abound to reach certain amount of posts to hav the 1st power of posting.....
Another thing.. is wht I truely felt mostly frm recent days... tht.... There shudnt b tht much difference btn the value of reputation given by A Mod/Super Mod and the ones given by general members... the 10 limit is bit too HIgh ..I feel. But ..thts totally my personal opinions.. I might b wrong!..

Firstly.. the rating is a very minor issue..i dont see why it has to be given such importance..i myself had a negative rating a long time ago which was cured by some generous ppl who rated me postively after that but it wasnt at all important to me..there are plenty of users here who have greater rankings than me but so what? The point im making, for those of you who sometimes fail to get my points, is that it isnt that big a deal if a new guy gets a higher ranking than a veteran poster.. cuz at the end of the day its the fellow members of the forum who know what quality that persons posts have regardless of how many green or red boxes they might have...
Secondly..There should be a big difference between the rating level of a member and a mod or super mod because when a member is rating somebodys post, they are in most cases doing it because they liked what was said in it.. but a mod or a super mod dont just rank only those posts that they think were good.. they also rate those users postively who, in their belief, are performing a significant role through that particular post for the improvement or betterment of that particular thread, section or the whole forum itself... that is why their votes are valued more..their rankings carry great power because their ranking requires greater responsibility..
As i said in the other thread, it is under consideration whether the ranking powers of the luminaries and veteran posters will be increased to form a equilibrium between the newbies powers and the admins powers..but the admin ranking isnt going down..its set to that level for definite reasons..i can speak for myself that i have only rated 3-4 persons in the time ive been here..and thats because they have impressed me somehow with a particular post or their overall quality of contribution..many of you have ranked fellow users based on your personal liking of a post..there should be a major difference between my vote that represented my approval of his or her efforts and a normal members ranking for a particular post that he or she liked..
Incase you want to rank a person for the exact reason i ranked him or her myself, you can always catch up to us by ranking all the posts you liked..if that person made 10 posts then you can rank all of them positively and put him in a position that i would have put him in if i thought he was an excellent edition to this forum..
Ofcourse the other options already under consideration.. but my personal opinion is that rating maybe great to boost someones confidence but the quality of the persons posts depend on that person..if he or she has the quality then they can make a great impression without the need of reputation points..for example Bristir Din E only recently went that high with the ranking but it doesnt mean ppl didnt like him before.. and shush has a barely green ranking but that doesnt reduce the quality of her posting at all..
i also disagree with abhie. in certain points agreed to asif bhai.
amount of post shd not be a factor that much. as abhie said. but it shd always be a preference or sort of plus points to the member having so many posts..that means he is with boshonto for so long. and really it can b considered that he is loving being here...
thats all forum is for.
forum is not for personal benefits in this level..its for ( to me) sharing ...learning...and more. we shd not take it that much important to be a moderrator or super mod as our ambitions or the progressive hierarchy...easy abhie...:)WHAT YOU GAIN ...is very important...freinds..precious time to share...
