You know how, in the movies, there are all these background characters who just appear for a short while and then you never see them again in the whole movie. They seem insignificant and unimportant.
In actual fact, in this world, we are all important and significant. Ever heard of the butterfly effect? It goes something like, when a butterfly\'s wings flutters, it could be indirectly causing a storm somewhere else in the world. Well, perhaps our impact isn\'t that drastic. But you get the idea.
When you make a donation to a charity, you have no idea who it\'s helping or how it\'s helping. But it\'s helping someone, somewhere, somehow. When you provide a listening ear one day, you could be stopping a potential suicide. Perhaps when you gave up your seat on a bus to an old lady, you helped prevent her legs from giving way later in the day, and her falling to her death down a flight of stairs.
Our friends, relatives, colleagues, loved ones, those around us - we impact their lives every single day in ways we could never have imagined. Those further away from us, we might be affecting them too. But how, we can only guess.
In TV shows about time travel, a typical scenario occurs whereby a person goes back in time, accidentally touches something he shouldn\'t have, and when he returns to the present, everything has changed. If a thing can affect the world so much, what more a person?
So, don\'t think you are insignificant. You are important. You are significant. You do make a difference. You are here for a reason.
